INTERFERING WITH THE MARINE LIFE
We are slowly bringing the marine life to its knees. What if it fights back?
Synthetic clothe
materials in their nature form being non-biodegradable, can be easily mistaken
for food by the marine animals. The release of microplastics and microfibers from
the garments end up in their system. Chemicals from decomposing clothing escaping
into the water affect the peaceful co-existence of marine life. This food chain
endangers our health too as we consume from the marine life.
Landfills of clothe waste is not only an economic hindrance but also its permanency
builds up over 200 years before its decomposition.
We can stop
this cycle through suitable disposal of clothing that harms the environment,
especially through wastewater.
